Quick fixes
Before you write.
Turn the music up a little, move the phone closer to the speaker, and give it a stretch with singing in it. Recognition needs an internet connection. A rare pressing or a song that was never released digitally may not be in the catalogue yet.
Ondalume needs the microphone to recognize music. Tap Open Settings in the app, or open your device's settings, find Ondalume, and turn on Microphone. Then go back and tap Listen.
Lyrics come from LRCLIB, a free community library, and some songs have no lyrics there yet. Instrumental tracks show “Just instruments”. Some songs have plain lyrics only, so the lines don't light up in time.
Keep listening for a few lines: Ondalume corrects itself from the singing it hears. If a song stays out of step, email us the song, the artist, and the source (vinyl, CD, radio) so we can look into it.
Ondalume listens only while it's open on screen, so it stops when you switch apps or lock the device. Open it and tap Listen again.
