Live lyrics for whatever's spinning.
Put on a record, a mixtape, a CD, anything with a song in it. Tap Listen and Ondalume catches the tune out of the air, then lights up each lyric line the moment it's sung.
Built for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android.
Why Ondalume
Records don't come with a lyrics screen.
Streaming apps show you the words. A turntable doesn't. Ondalume is made for the music playing out loud in the room, so you can follow every line of the record you just flipped.
- 1
Put it on
Drop the needle, press play on the deck, turn up the radio. Ondalume listens through the microphone, so there's nothing to plug in or pair.
- 2
Tap Listen
It catches the tune out of the air: song, artist, and cover, with no typing and no searching. A playful "Catching the tune" keeps you company meanwhile.
- 3
Sing along
The line that's being sung right now lights up, and the lyrics roll with the record, line by line, until you tap Stop.
See it sing
Needle down. Words up.
The turntable plays, the phone listens. This is the Ondalume screen, state for state, running a song we made up. Go ahead and tap it.
Quiet waters
Before a song is found: a modest tile, a short title, a hint, and the Listen button, kept together as one calm group. Tap the gear for Settings.
“Side B Summer” by Marlow Tide is a made-up song, lyrics and all.
Themes
Four moods. One tap.
Ondalume ships with four colour themes, each made for light and dark. Pick one here and this page and the phone above repaint at once, just like in the app's Settings. Light or dark follows your device.
Privacy
What it hears stays in the room.
Ondalume needs your microphone to do its one job, and that's all it uses it for.
Listens when you tap
Only after you tap Listen, only while the app is open. Never in the background.
Never records
Audio lives in short in-memory buffers and is let go. Nothing is saved or uploaded.
Thinks on the device
Singing detection, the audio sensors, and word checking all run on your phone.
Lyrics in memory only
Fetched from LRCLIB when needed and gone when the app closes.
No accounts, no ads
No sign-up, no analytics SDK, no ad identifiers, no location.
Remembers two things
Your theme and a lyric timing offset. Neither says anything about what you heard.
Put a record on. Sing every line.
Ondalume is free, with no account and no ads. Get it for iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Android.
